This piece is all about the joy of a cluttered, maximalist corner. I wanted to capture that specific feeling of a room that has been put together over years, not overnight. It’s a mix of some of my absolute favourite things to paint: stacks of old books, intricate vintage rugs, a classic timber tallboy, and heaps of patterned fabric.
Created with gouache and pen on watercolour paper, this original artwork is full of tiny hand-drawn details and layered textures. It brings to life a sanctuary for the senses…a room that feels wonderfully familiar, peaceful, and layered with memories.
