I have a real weakness for painting the view from one room into another. There is something so intriguing about looking through a doorway and catching a glimpse of a completely different personal sanctuary just beyond.
For this piece, I went all-in on rich green tones, using a fine pen to texture this incredibly detailed wallpaper that frames the doorway. Peeking through the door frame reveals a cozy bedroom, complete with a striped quilt, a layered rug, and a vintage timber dresser tucked in the corner.
Created with gouache and pen on watercolour paper, this original artwork is full of tiny hand-drawn details and layered textures.
